Summerville Weekly: September 16th
🍹 Sweet Tea Festival, Yard Sales, Live Music and more! 🎸
☀️ Good Morning Summervillians! Before we jump into this week’s events, I would just like to take a moment and say: rest in peace to Charlie Kirk - a true American hero who was horrifically killed in Utah last week. There was a massive turnout at Sunday’s vigil for Charlie in Hutchinson Square, which made us extra proud to call this wonderful town home. May God watch over Charlie’s wife Erika and their two young children. 🇺🇸

Restaurant Spotlight

It’s been awhile since we’ve featured a pizza place, so we wanted to highlight one that doesn’t seem to get the attention it deserves!
Sangaree Pizza has been serving Summerville for years, offering a mix of classic Italian dishes and local favorites. The menu covers everything you’d expect—hand-tossed pizzas, hearty pasta plates, subs, and seafood specials. Customers often point to the stuffed shells and shrimp scampi as standouts, while the New York–style pies get plenty of praise for their crisp crust and balanced toppings.

It’s a casual, family-friendly spot with plenty of seating, plus a kids’ menu that makes it an easy choice for weeknight dinners. Service is consistently described as welcoming, with staff who treat regulars and newcomers alike with the same attention.
For convenience, Sangaree also offers online ordering and delivery, along with catering options for larger gatherings. They even host private events if you’re looking for a laid-back venue.
If you’re looking for a new pizza place to try in Summerville, Sangaree Pizza is a dependable choice that keeps locals coming back.
Featured Pup of the Week: Maizie 🐶
Say hello to Maize the 2-year-old terrier mix who has been at Dorchester Paws since May!

From Dorchester Paws:
“Our girl Maizie recently got to spend her day out at Azalea Park and she had the best time. 💕
Maizie has been with us since May, and she’s truly a shelter superstar, a 2-year-old “helper dog” who makes other pups feel more comfortable when meeting new friends. She’s amazingly friendly, well-behaved, and always ready to brighten someone’s day.
Doggie Dates give pups like Maizie a chance to stretch their legs, soak up the sun, and enjoy some one-on-one time. Plus, it helps us learn more about their personalities outside the shelter.
We’re open every day from 12pm–5pm. Come take a dog out for the afternoon and make a shelter pup’s day!”
