Restaurant Spotlight:

If you’ve driven down North Main in Summerville, you’ve probably passed Shawerma House without realizing it. It sits in a small strip across from Azalea Plaza, easy to reach and surprisingly low-key from the outside. Inside, it’s simple and comfortable, the kind of place where you can walk in, order quickly, and know exactly what you’re getting into.

The shawarma is the main draw, and it delivers. The chicken comes off the spit with the right mix of seasoning and tenderness, and the beef has a deep flavor without being too heavy. Everything gets wrapped in fresh pita that actually holds its structure, which matters once you realize how generously everything is packed.

Their plates add even more to the experience. The rice has real aroma to it, the pickles add sharpness, and the garlic sauce is one of those things you immediately wish you had extra of. The hummus has a smooth texture with plenty of taste, and the falafel brings that crisp-exterior, soft-center balance that keeps you going back for another bite.

For drinks, the mint lemonade stands out. It’s bright and refreshing, and it works well with the warm spices and richness in most of the dishes.

What sets Shawerma House apart in Summerville is how consistently enjoyable the food is. It’s straightforward, flavorful, and made with clear attention to detail. If you’re looking for something quick in town but still want real depth of flavor, this spot is an easy pick.

Featured Pup of the Week: Boba 🐶

Meet Boba, the 10-month-old puppy who is currently being fostered through Dorchester Paws!

From Dorchester Paws:

🐶 At 10 months old, Boba is a joyful, goofy ball of energy who loves everyone...dogs, humans, and even himself. He’ll happily toss a ball in the air and play fetch solo when the mood strikes (yes, it’s as cute as it sounds).

This boy is all about fun, zoomies, and chew time. Bully sticks and yak chews? His love language. He’s still learning his commands, but he’s eager to please and ready for a family who can help guide him. Boba would thrive in a home with or without other animals, he just wants to be part of the action. 💛
