Featured Restaurant of the Week

If you’re in the mood for sushi, hibachi, or just want to watch someone juggle spatulas while lighting an onion on fire, Wasabi of Summerville has you covered. Tucked off Berkeley Circle, this Japanese steakhouse is a go-to for groups, date nights, or when you just want dinner to come with a side of spectacle.
You know the drill—communal tables, chefs cracking jokes while tossing shrimp tails into their hats, and a whole lot of sizzle. It’s not reinventing the hibachi wheel, but it doesn’t need to. The portions are big, the fried rice is solid, and if you order the filet and scallops combo, you probably won’t leave hungry.

The sushi menu’s pretty deep, and the rolls are generous. You’ll find all the usual suspects, plus a few creative options like the Wild Wasabi Roll (think crab tempura, avocado, and a fish-on-fish situation up top). Everything’s fresh and plated nicely—no complaints here.
Weekly Specials Worth Knowing:
Monday: Industry night—20% off food for service folks (at the bar or sushi bar).
Tuesday: Two large sakes for $12 and select apps for the same.
Wednesday: Ladies night with $4 wine and discounted rolls.
Thursday: Half-off select sushi + cheap drinks.
Friday: Happy hour with discounts on sake, beer, wine, and liquor.
Wasabi isn’t trying to be a fine dining spot—and that’s the point. It’s casual, it’s loud, and it leans into the show. The hibachi chefs are fun, the servers keep things moving, and there’s usually a birthday or two being celebrated at full volume.
So if you haven’t been yet, it’s worth checking out. If you have, you already know the game: sit back, sip your sake, and try not to flinch when the chef sets your table on fire.
Featured Pup of the Week: Cinnamon 🐕
Meet Cinnamon, the 8-year-old who has been fostered through Dorchester Paws for over a year now!

From Dorchester Paws:
“Today marks one full year that Cinnamon has been in foster care—365 days of love, patience, and waiting for her forever family to come along. ❤
Cinnamon is an 8-year-old girl with the perfect blend of calm and playful energy. Her foster shares, “Cinnamon is awesome—laid-back but playful. She’s easy to handle, loves snuggling, and is always up for a walk or a belly rub. She really is the perfect companion.”
She’s incredibly quiet—her foster has heard her bark only a handful of times. Once, when a fire engine went by, she surprised everyone with a perfectly timed “roooo” in response. That was the day she discovered sirens… and her inner hound.
Cinnamon is looking for a peaceful home where she can continue to thrive. She currently lives with other pups who give her space- Cinnamon prefers a calm environment. She would do best with a calm, respectful dog who is happy to coexist.
After a full year of waiting, Cinnamon is more than ready to find her forever home—a home as steady and loving as she is.”
