Restaurant Spotlight

Rinaldi's Deli opened in 2023, bringing authentic Italian-American cuisine to Summerville. Owned by Michelle and Anthony, who bring over 30 years of deli experience from the Tri-state area, this sub shop offers a range of breakfast and lunch options.
Rinaldi’s is a true NY-style deli, serving up classics like Chicken Cutlet & Ruben Sandwiches, Meatball Subs, and even breakfast sandwiches with Taylor Pork Roll.

Anthony and Michelle were nice enough to include a cheat-sheet on their website for those of us that don’t know the NY/NJ lingo, so that you can order like a pro:
“Make it Nice” - just a fun way for everyone to know you’re going to get the best possible bite.
Roll - A round sandwich bread perfect for breakfast or lunch. It makes a good vessel for a hot or cold sandwich.
Hero - Also known as: Wedge, Sub, Hoagie or Grinder. Larger than a “Roll” for the person looking for just a little more.
While they have all the classics, they also have some creative subs that I’ve never seen before like “The Cluck’n Russian”, which has chicken cutlet, muenster cheese, bacon, and Russian dressing. My personal favorite is “The Bruin”, with chicken cutlet, bacon, mozzarella cheese & BBQ Sauce.
Whether you’re craving a true NY sub or you’ve never even tried one, this place is the real deal and you’re definitely gonna want to give them a try. They’re only open from 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Saturday, so plan on breakfast, lunch or an early dinner!
Wildfires In South Carolina
Wildfires are currently raging across South Carolina, prompting Governor Henry McMaster to declare a state of emergency and issue a statewide burning ban. Over 175 wildfires have erupted, affecting more than 4,200 acres, with the largest blaze in the Carolina Forest area near Myrtle Beach consuming 1,600 acres and forcing evacuations in nearby neighborhoods like Walker Woods and Avalon. Dry conditions, gusty winds, and low humidity have fueled the rapid spread of these fires.
Firefighters, aided by aircraft and over 400 personnel, have made progress in containing some fires, with the Carolina Forest fire now 30% contained. While no injuries or structural losses have been reported, residents remain on high alert as air quality warnings persist. Evacuations continue in affected areas, and officials urge compliance with the burning ban to prevent further outbreaks.
Thankfully, there is nothing to be worried about in Summerville and we’re praying for all those in the affected areas. 🙏
Featured Pup of the Week: Jayce 🦮
This week, I got to take Jayce from Dorchester Paws out on a doggie date! Jayce is a three and half year old hound mix, who has been at the shelter since October.

Jayce was super friendly and had tons of energy, and like the true hound dog he is, he wants to sniff everything in sight and could walk around for hours doing so!
We went to Azalea Park and Hutchinson Square, where he met lots of people, but was mostly interested in finding some new scents. As we were leaving the park, he met some kids and was extra calm and gentle with them.
Jayce did great in the car, and loved to stick his head out the window for awhile before he laid down and relaxed.
I think Jayce would be the ideal dog for someone who is very active and gets out a lot in nature, or has backyard for him to roam!
Check out the instagram video below to see some highlights from my doggie date with Jayce, and please visit dorchesterpaws.org to see all the adoptable dogs & cats at the shelter. 🐾
