Restaurant Spotlight

Summerville’s newest bagel shop opened last Thursday in the One Nexton shopping center.
Ruby's New York Style Bagels was founded by Joe Harvey, Kevin Roach, and their wives Denise and Gail. Kevin and Gail moved to Mount Pleasant in 2016, and Kevin's bagel-making hobby led to a partnership with Joe, who owns successful coffee shops in the Northeast. Together, they combined their expertise to create a bagel shop offering a full menu of sandwiches and coffee drinks, featuring favorites from their Northeast coffee shops.
Ruby’s New York Style Bagels was already a favorite for many in Summerville who have visited one of their locations in North Charleston, West Ashley, or Mount Pleasant.
With 25 different bagel options, as well as 11 different cream cheese flavors, they truly have something for everyone!
They also serve a variety of bagel sandwiches, wraps, and avocado toast. My personal favorite is Ruby’s Club, which comes with Ham, Roast Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, and Mayo - which I would get on a Cheddar Bacon Habanero bagel 🤤.

Featured Pup of the Week: Denali 🐶
For this weeks doggie date with Dorchester Paws, I got to take Denali, who is an 8 and a half year old terrier mix.

Denali did great in the car, and after she realized she couldn’t sit on my lap while I was driving, she settled right in and made herself comfortable in the back seat.
For an older dog, Denali had tons of energy and such a silly personality. She absolutely loves people and wants to be as close as possible!
After a walk around Nexton Square, I brought her home to play some fetch in the backyard, and she had a blast.
Check out the highlights from our doggie date below, and please visit dorchesterpaws.org to learn more about Denali and the other dogs and cats at the shelter!
