Restaurant Spotlight

Located at 106 Parkway Avenue, Yokoso is one of those go-to local spots for birthdays, family dinners, date nights, and nights when you want more than just a quiet plate of food dropped off at the table. The setup is classic hibachi: you sit around the grill, the chef comes out, and dinner turns into a little show.

There are flying spatulas, onion volcanoes, jokes from the chef, and usually at least one person at the table trying to catch a piece of food in their mouth.

The hibachi menu covers all the usual favorites: teriyaki chicken, ribeye steak, shrimp, scallops, filet mignon, salmon, lobster, and several combo dinners. Dinner entrees come with Japanese onion soup, house salad, fried rice, and vegetables, so this is not the kind of place where you leave hungry.

The portions are generous, the fried rice is always a big part of the meal, and the hibachi combo plates give you a little bit of everything without having to choose between steak, chicken, or seafood.

Yokoso also has a sushi side of the menu, which makes it a good option if not everyone at the table wants hibachi. You can go with rolls, nigiri, sashimi, or a sushi and sashimi combo, while the rest of the group watches dinner get cooked in front of them.

The restaurant is especially good for groups. It has that built-in energy that makes dinner feel a little more fun, especially for kids or birthday celebrations. It is not the place you go for a super quiet, intimate meal. It is the place you go when you want the chef to make everyone laugh, the kids to stay entertained, and everyone to leave with a box of leftovers.

Yokoso is open for dinner during the week, with earlier weekend hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Summerville location is open Monday through Thursday from 4:30-9:30PM, Friday and Saturday from 4-10PM, and Sunday from 12-9PM.

If you are looking for a fun dinner spot in Summerville that works for families, groups, birthdays, or just a night when you want something more entertaining than the usual sit-down meal, Yokoso is an easy one to put on the list.

At just 1 years old, Mitchell is bursting with personality, happiness, and all the energy that comes with being a young dog. He absolutely LOVES to play— especially a good game of fetch— and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can run, explore, and burn off some of that puppy enthusiasm.

He’s so excited to make new friends that he’s still learning his manners when saying hello! With consistency, structure, and plenty of exercise, he’s going to make an incredible companion.

He also enjoys going on walks! He may start out pulling a little because he’s eager to explore, but once he settles in, he’s happy to stroll right alongside you.

Right now, Mitchell would greatly benefit from a foster home where he can decompress, stretch his legs. and continue building his confidence outside the shelter. Of course, we’d love even more for him to find his forever family.❤️
