Restaurant Spotlight

Some of the best food spots are hiding where you’d least expect them, and Taco King is a perfect example. Located inside the red gas station at 500 Boone Hill Road, this casual Mexican restaurant serves the kind of tacos that quickly turn a first-time customer into a regular.
The tacos are the main attraction, served on two corn tortillas and loaded generously with meat, onions and cilantro. Al pastor is a standout, with seasoned pork and a little sweetness from pineapple, while the carnitas and carne asada are great choices when you want something simple, filling and packed with flavor. Make sure to try both the red and green sauces on the side.

The quesabirrias are another local favorite. They come crispy, cheesy and stuffed with tender birria, with plenty of rich broth for dipping. Taco King has also expanded its menu to include seafood, giving you even more reasons to come back after working your way through the tacos.

This isn’t the place for fancy plates or an elaborate dining experience. It’s a straightforward, fast-casual spot serving satisfying Mexican food at a fair price. Come hungry, order a few different meats and don’t second-guess the gas station location—the food inside is well worth the stop.
Featured Pup of the Week: Sullie 🐶
Meet Sullie, the 7-year-old black lab who’s currently being fostered through Dorchester Paws!

From Dorchester Paws:
“Sullie is ready for his forever home... could it be with you?💙💛
For the past 8 weeks, Sullie has been thriving in a foster home, and his foster has fallen completely in love with him - and it's easy to see why.
Sullie is everything you could ask for in a best friend. He's sweet, gentle, calm, and easygoing, with just the right amount of playful energy. He loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is happiest simply spending time with those he loves.
Watching him blossom in a home has been incredible, which is why the thought of him returning to the shelter is so difficult. Sullie deserves a family of his own—a place where he can continue to feel safe, loved, and cherished every single day.
If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, we hope you'll come meet Sullie. He may just be the missing piece you've been looking for.”
