🥶 Snow in Summerville ❄️
Brace yourselves for a rare and significant winter weather event this week, with snow and ice expected to impact Summerville from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. Here's what you need to know:
Snowfall: The National Weather Service forecasts 1-3 inches of snow accumulation, with the possibility of sleet and freezing rain in some areas. This could lead to hazardous travel conditions, especially during the evening commute on Tuesday.
Timing: The winter storm is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon, with the heaviest snowfall and ice accumulation occurring overnight into Wednesday morning.
Temperature: Temperatures are set to drop significantly, with lows in the lower 20s and wind chill values as low as 14°F. This cold snap will make the snow and ice stick, potentially causing disruptions.
Precautions: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 5:00 PM EST on January 21 until 12:00 PM EST on January 22. Residents are advised to prepare for potential power outages, icy roads, and to take necessary precautions for pets and the elderly.
Impact: Expect travel disruptions, with schools and businesses likely to close or delay opening. The Town of Summerville has already announced that Seacoast Church will serve as a warming shelter due to the forecast.
Aftermath: Following the storm, temperatures will remain cold, with highs in the mid-30s on Wednesday and gradually warming up to the upper 40s by Friday. However, wet roads could refreeze, causing additional travel issues.
Stay informed with local weather updates, and take the necessary steps to ensure your safety and the well-being of those around you during this unusual winter event!
Restaurant Spotlight 🍽

🍕Benny Mazzetto’s - 111 S Main St 🍕
We had the pleasure of trying Benny Mazzetto’s earlier this week, and it did not disappoint. Benny’s is known for their giant pizzas, coming in at a whopping 28 inches. To put that in perspective, according to Google, an average large pizza is normally 14-18 inches, meaning it is twice the size of what many pizza places would consider a large!
Benny Mazzetto’s close proximity to the bars in downtown Summerville, and the fact that they are open until 2am on Fridays & Saturdays, also makes it the ultimate late night “snack” after a night out.
The best part about Benny Mazzetto’s? You can order by the slice. We stopped in for a classic cheese slice earlier this week, and boy was it crispy. Zero flop. Check out our instagram video below and see for yourself!

🐶 Featured Pup of the Week: Thunder ⚡️
Meet Thunder, the 8-year-old, 71-pound mixed breed, currently being fostered through Dorchester Paws!

From Dorchester Paws:
“Meet Thunder, an 8-year-old, 71-pound bundle of love who’s been on quite the journey here. Thunder has spent nearly two months battling chronic allergies and receiving care for previously untreated ear infections. While these may have led to some hearing loss over time, Thunder’s spirit remains as strong as his name.
This big-hearted boy would love nothing more than to find a quiet, cozy spot where he can snooze away his days and soak up gentle attention. Thunder is a low-energy snuggle-bug who’s perfectly content lounging in bed or enjoying his medicated baths. Despite his challenges, he’s a breeze to bathe and doesn’t mind the TLC his ears and skin need to stay healthy. Because of his unique needs, Thunder would thrive as the only dog in a home that can provide ongoing care with ear drops or medicated baths to keep him comfortable.
Whether as a foster, adopter, or even just a friend for doggy dates and extra walks, Thunder deserves a chance to feel the love and comfort of a devoted companion. Help us give Thunder the world he dreams of exploring. ♥️”
