Restaurant Spotlight

Famulari’s Pizzeria | Cane Bay

Famulari’s has been serving up New York & Chicago Style pizza to the Summerville area since 2008. In 2003, brothers Jason and Justin Famulari teamed up with longtime friends Josh and Brandon. With their 20+ years of pizza-making experience, they set out to create the best possible pizza. 5 years later the first Famulari’s Pizza was born in Summerville.

Since they opened in 2008, Famulari’s has been voted best Pizza in Summerville nearly every year since (Winner 2009-2015 & 2017-2021).

Famulari’s Cane Bay is a great place to grab a quick bite to go, or sit down and watch some football, with plenty of TVs and local beers on tap.

This is a great week to give them a try, as they are participating in Restaurant Week, offering a Dinner for 2 for $25!

From now until January 19th, for $25 you can have your choice of Bruschetta, Pepperoni Rolls, or 6 wings, as well as a Build Your Own 14” New York Pizza (up to 3 toppings). For an additional $5 you can add two Draft beers.

Charleston Restaurant Week

Restaurant week is back in Charleston from Jan 9th-19th! Here are a couple deals that stand out:

  • Basil Thai Restaurant Park Circle | 3 Courses for $30: for just $30 you can choose from a variety of classic Thai appetizers including egg rolls or fried wontons to start, a noodle, curry, or rice entree (including Pad Thai of course), and your choice of Cheesecake, Chocolate Torte, or a glass of House Wine - not sure how anyone could beat this deal!

  • Halls Chophouse Nexton | 3 Courses for $68: if you’ve been wanting to try Hall’s Chophouse, but didn’t want to take out a second mortgage on the house, now’s your chance! For appetizers, you can choose from She Crab Soup, Caesar Salad, Simple Greens Salad, or their Soup of the Day. For Entrees, you can choose between the 8 oz Filet Mignon or the Blackened Scottish Salmon. The featured dessert changes nightly so I’d recommend calling ahead if you’re picky about your desserts!

  • Crave Kitchen & Cocktails | Lunch Menu - 3 Courses for $25: if you want a real bargain, head to Crave for lunch this week (11am-4pm) - although you miss out on dessert with this option. For your first course, you get to choose between Mac Fritters and their Mezze Board. For the second course, you choose from the Chicken & Wild Rice Soup, and the Winter Salad. Finally, the options for the third course are the Mediterranean Tuna Salad Wrap, the Schnitzel Sandwich, and the NE Style Roast Beef Sandwich.

Featured Pup of the Week: Rudolph 🐶

Meet Rudolph, the 1 year old Terrier Mix Currently being Fostered through Berkeley Animal Center!

From Rudolph’s foster family:

“Meet Rudolph (affectionately called Rudy in our Home!)

This Handsome, goofy, and oh-so-sweet boy joined us just before the holidays, and he’s been the best gift ever. At just over a year old and around 35-40 lbs, Rudolph is the perfect size for zoomies AND couch snuggles. And can we talk about this adorable pink face around his nose and eyes?

Here’s what we’ve learned so far from this lovable goofball:

  • Dog Bestie Material: Rudolph hit it off with our two pups right away. He’s all about playtime, tag, and toys. Bonus points for being a total sweetheart!

  • People = His Happy Place: Rudolph LOVES attention from anyone and everyone - kids, adults, you name it. We even took him Christmas shopping in Summerville, and he worked the crowd like a pro.

  • Potty Champ: He watched our dogs use the doggie door once and said, “I got this.” Potty Training? Check!

  • Kennel Sweetheart: He’ll give you a tiny “but why?” whimper when he first goes in, but within a minute, he’s out like a light and snoozing through the night.

  • Snuggle Monster: After a day of fun, he’s all about curling up next to you for some belly rubs and Netflix marathons.

Rudy has brought so much laughter and love into our home. He’s the total package: playful, cuddly, and oh-so-smart. We can’t wait for him to find his forever family - they’re going to be SO lucky!”
