Restaurant Spotlight - Wakey Bakey Bagels 🥯

Wakey Bakey Bagels is a welcome addition to Summerville’s growing food scene. Located in Downtown Nexton, this cozy bagel shop opened its doors on February 1st, and has already become a favorite spot for breakfast lovers.

The menu features classic bagel flavors like plain and everything, as well as creative options like jalapeno cheddar and blueberry. Guests can pair their bagels with a range of spreads, from traditional cream cheese to bold choices like jalapeno sriracha. For something more filling, the shop also serves bagel sandwiches, including customer favorites like "The Lox" with smoked salmon or the buffalo ranch chicken cutlet. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available, making it a spot where everyone can find something to enjoy.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or planning to sit and stay awhile, Wakey Bakey Bagels offers great food in a friendly environment. We showed up for Wakey Bakey’s Grand Opening a few weeks back, check out our Instagram video below to see what we thought! ⬇️

This week, I got to take Jellybean out on a doggie date! Jellybean is a two year old Great Pyrenees mix and current resident at Dorchester Paws in Summerville.

He was really excited to get out of the shelter, but was a little skeptical getting in the car, so I had to lift him in. Judging by his size, I wasn’t too sure I was going to be able to lift him, but he was about half as heavy as he looked with all his fluffy hair!

Jellybean was a pro on the leash and didn’t pull once, following my lead wherever we went. Unfortunately it was super cold and there weren’t many people for Jellybean to meet, because he really loved meeting new people!

Check out our doggie date below ⬇️ , and please visit dorchesterpaws.org to learn more about the countless other dogs and cats like Jellybean. 🐾
