Restaurant Spotlight

Bexley is a seafood restaurant in Summerville with a menu built around fresh oysters, raw bar favorites, and cooked coastal dishes. The focus stays on fish, shrimp, scallops, and classic Lowcountry flavors, with both small plates and large entrées available.
The raw bar is a big part of the draw. Guests can order daily oysters by the half dozen or full dozen, along with shrimp cocktail, snow crab, and ahi tuna. There’s also seared yellowfin tuna and crispy fish dip for anyone who prefers their seafood prepared but still light.

On the cooked side, the menu leans into seafood-forward platters. Fried shrimp, crispy fish, and seafood baskets are easy picks for a filling meal. Scallops and pork belly, miso-glazed duck, and salmon are among the heavier entrées for anyone looking for something more substantial.
Small plates offer a solid mix for sharing. Options include tacos with shrimp or fish, peel-and-eat shrimp, calamari, and seasonal seafood appetizers. The kitchen keeps the flavors straightforward and lets the seafood stay front and center.

Bexley fits well into Summerville’s growing seafood scene and gives locals a consistent place to order oysters, shrimp, and fish without driving into Charleston. It’s a strong option for both a full dinner or a lighter seafood-focused meal.
Featured Pup of the Week: Adessa ❤️🩹
Sadly, this week’s Featured Pup of the Week needs our help. She arrived at Dorchester Paws with a limp, and after undergoing x-rays, they discovered an injury that will require surgery.

From Dorchester Paws:
“Adessa should be bouncing around with the happy curiosity of any young dog. When she arrived at Dorchester Paws, we hoped her limp was a simple injury. But X-rays revealed a devastating truth: Adessa has a complete femur fracture and a left coxofemoral dislocation, an injury so severe that she’s running out of time.
Her only chance at keeping her leg is emergency orthopedic surgery, and it must happen quickly. Without it, amputation becomes her only option. The cost of this lifesaving surgery is $3,000, and with our shelter already overwhelmed with major medical cases, we cannot do this alone.
Despite her agony, Adessa is gentle and trusting. She looks up at every staff member with soft, hopeful eyes, as if she knows we’re trying to save her. She deserves more than pain meds and a kennel—she deserves relief, comfort, and the chance to walk again without suffering.
We’re fighting for her, but we need your help. Please donate today to give Adessa the surgery she urgently needs. Every contribution brings her one step closer to healing.
And after her operation, Adessa will need an emergency foster where she can recover safely and surrounded by love. If you can open your home to her, even temporarily, it would make all the difference for her healing and her future.”
If you are able to donate to Adessa’s surgery, you can do so here, and if you are interested in fostering Adessa after her surgery you can apply to foster by clicking here. 💙
