Restaurant Spotlight 🍽

Mei Thai sits right on Old Trolley Road, and from the outside you’d never guess how many different flavor lanes the kitchen actually covers. Once you step in, the warm lighting and neat layout make it easy to settle in—whether you’re there for a quiet dinner or bringing a small group.
The menu reflects a blend of Thai, Filipino, and Japanese influences, which gives the whole experience a choose-your-own-adventure feel. You can start with something familiar like Pad Thai or curry and then pivot into chicken inasal, lumpia, or a roll from the sushi bar without it feeling out of place. It’s one of the few spots in the area where you can build a meal across three cuisines and have each dish feel like it belongs.

What stands out most is how bold the flavors are. The Thai dishes bring real aromatics—basil, chili, lemongrass—without being overwhelming. The Filipino plates are comforting and richly seasoned, and the sushi offerings add a lighter, fresher balance if you’re mixing and matching. It’s the kind of menu that encourages sharing just so you can taste more of it.
Service tends to move at an easy pace, and the staff walks that line of helping when needed but giving you room to enjoy the meal. Whether you’re asking for spice adjustments or exploring dishes you haven’t tried before, the team handles it with a sense of ease that makes the whole experience feel smooth.

If you want something different from the usual dinner spots in Summerville, Mei Thai earns a try. It’s versatile enough for a weeknight meal, interesting enough for a date night, and varied enough that everyone at the table can land on something they’re excited about.
Featured Pup of the Week: Millie 🐕
Meet Millie, the senior mixed breed who is a current resident at Dorchester Paws!

From Dorchester Paws:
“Millie is 10 going on “ma’am, please keep it down.” She loves food (will dance for it), enjoys quiet naps, likes long walks on the beach, and LOVES tucking her head into your arms like the world’s coziest weighted blanket.
Her rules for her future home are simple:
🐾 No cats. Too chaotic for this girl.
🐾 Other dogs? Maybe. But only the silent roommate type.
🐾 Adults preferred. She’s retired and doesn’t have the energy to supervise tiny humans.
Millie walks like a dream, crates like an angel, and is house-trained with routine. Senior perks, baby. ⭐”
