I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?
You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.
Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?
Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.
The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.
That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.
Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.
Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.
If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Restaurant Spotlight

If you’re craving hibachi but don’t necessarily need a chef flipping shrimp into your mouth, Seasons of Tokyo in Azalea Square might be worth adding to the lunch rotation.
Seasons of Tokyo is basically hibachi in fast-casual form. You order at the counter, skip the hour-long steakhouse experience, and still get the fried rice, chicken, steak, shrimp and white sauce you came for. The Azalea Square location is at 214 Azalea Square Blvd, and it’s open until 10PM seven days a week.
The menu is pretty massive, but the bowls are probably the easiest place to start. A medium teriyaki chicken bowl is $9.50, steak is $11.50, and you can mix proteins with combos like steak and shrimp or steak and chicken. If you’re extra hungry, there’s also a three-meat Super Bowl for $14.95.

Want something closer to a traditional hibachi dinner? Plates include chicken, steak, shrimp and combos, plus upgraded options like ribeye and filet mignon. There’s also orange chicken, bento boxes, dumplings, spring rolls and, most importantly, the ability to buy an entire 12-ounce container of white sauce.
It’s not fancy, and that’s sort of the point. Seasons of Tokyo is built for when you want a big plate of hibachi without turning dinner into an event.
Featured Pup of the Week: Tonka 🐶
Meet Tonka, the 3-year-old hound mix who’s been with Dorchester Paws since January!

From Dorchester Paws:
“If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart, we'd love for you to meet Tonka.
This handsome hound will be 3 years old soon and has been patiently waiting for his forever family since arriving at Dorchester Paws in January. For the past couple of months, he's been thriving in a foster home, where we've learned just what a special boy he is.
Tonka is house trained and crate trained. In fact, having a cozy crate or quiet room of his own is one of his favorite things. It's his safe space where he can relax, recharge, and enjoy a little peace and quiet after a busy day.
Like many dogs, Tonka can be a little shy when meeting new people. He simply needs a little time and patience to settle in and realize he's safe! One thing that really helps Tonka blossom? A confident canine companion!
If you're ready to help Tonka write his next chapter, reach out to [email protected]. We think you'll fall in love with this handsome hound just like his foster family has.💙💛”
