Why Burned-Out Professionals Are Turning to CBD

Long hours, heavy workloads and frustrating coworkers: job burnout is on the rise. Savvy professionals are turning to CBD and its sister compound, CBG, to manage work stress and burnout without losing focus.

Like CBD, CBG is a non-intoxicating compound found naturally in the hemp plant that is known for helping to manage mild/temporary anxiety. And these benefits are backed by science: participants in a 2022 CBDistillery study who took CBD + CBG reported:

  • Reduced mild or temporary anxiety and tension

  • Increased focus and mental clarity

  • That CBD + CBG was more effective than other treatments they tried in the past

When it comes to quality CBD products, CBDistillery is leading the way. Non-GMO, US-grown hemp, 100% clean ingredients, and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee give you one less thing to stress about.

Restaurant Spotlight

If your idea of a solid neighborhood spot includes smoked wings, stacked burgers, loaded fries, and a long tap list, Neighborhood Tap House makes a strong case. The Summerville location leans into bar food with some heft behind it, where the menu is built for people who came hungry.

The smoked wings are one of the main draws, offered plain or with sauces like buffalo, sweet BBQ, vinegar BBQ, and Alabama white. That same smoked-meat angle shows up again on the pulled pork sandwiches, including the Pit Master BBQ and the Carolina Cuban, which adds ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard to the mix.

Burger fans have options beyond the standard pub patty. The Tri-Blend Burger uses brisket, short rib, and chuck, while the Pub Burger adds beer cheese and crispy onions. It’s the kind of menu where burgers are treated like a headliner, not filler.

The fries section deserves its own mention. Backyard Fries come topped with pulled pork, smoked gouda, and bourbon BBQ sauce. Bacon Cheddar Ranch Fries do exactly what the name promises. There’s also a poutine-style version with gravy, provolone, and cheese curds.

The rooftop space adds another reason to stop in. It gives the restaurant a more open, social feel than your standard sports bar setup, with elevated views and plenty of room to settle in with a drink while the downtown area moves below. It’s an easy place to spend a while once you’re up there.

If you want something less heavy, there are salads, wraps, grilled chicken sandwiches, and lighter options mixed in. But this menu clearly knows its audience. Come here when you want food with some weight to it & a cold drink!

Featured Pup of the Week: Happy 🐶

Say hello to Happy, the 4-year-old pitbull mix who is a current resident at Dorchester Paws!

From Dorchester Paws:

“Meet Happy 💛

She lives up to her name in every way. This 4-year-old mixed breed has never met a stranger—every new face is her favorite person, and every moment is a reason to wag her tail. From her recent adventure making her TV debut on WCBD News 2’s Pets on 2, to soaking up every ounce of love she can get, Happy is more than ready to trade the spotlight for a forever home. 🐾

When Happy arrived at Dorchester Paws, she tested heartworm positive. Thanks to the support of our community, she’s received the treatment she needed and is well on her way to recovery—but so many dogs just like her are still waiting for that chance.”
